FIRST Ortho is located at 102-104 Queen’s Road, Buckhurst Hill, which is a five-minute train ride from the Debden Underground Station in Loughton. Once you get to Buckhurst Hill Underground, we’re a seven-minute walk away, so we’re really easy to get to.
If you’re coming to FIRST Ortho by car you can either use our on-road parking directly outside the practice or park in the Queen’s Road car park nearby.
There are also the 167 buses between Loughton and Buckhurst Hill, which stop at Buckhurst Hill Underground, so you’re literally moments away from that new smile.

- Ceramic braces – we use a transparent ceramic material to give older teenagers and adult patients a discreet way to realign their teeth
- Functional braces – we use these to correct a less common bite problem known as overjet and we’re one of only a few UK orthodontists offering functional braces
- Incognito lingual braces – these braces lie behind the teeth so they’re essentially invisible but no less effective than other styles of dental braces
- Invisalign braces – which offer children and adults with milder cases of misalignment a gentle and noninvasive way to correct their bite
- Bonded and removable retainers – these correct and maintain the arch shape of upper and/or lower teeth in the jaw; our retainers can treat up to eight teeth whereas most other orthodontists can treat up to only six
- Steel and Damon braces – the “train track” braces we’re all familiar with and which are ideal for younger children

Misaligned, or maloccluded, teeth are often subject to unusual stress and wear patterns as they don’t fit together as they’re “designed” to when you chew. Eventually this abnormal stress can cause cracks, excessive wear and even breakages in the teeth.
Misaligned teeth can be harder to clean
If a misaligned tooth is recessed behind one or more of the adjacent teeth, it can be harder to reach with a toothbrush and dental floss. This can lead to staining, dental decay and even tooth loss.

Brushing our teeth twice a day is vital for a beautiful smile and FIRST Ortho is ready to help with anything that a new toothbrush and floss can’t deal with.
FIRST Ortho also offers cosmetic dental treatments.
Cosmetic bonding can add the finishing touch to your smile by filling in gaps or chips, as well as any discoloured areas. It’s also known as composite bonding and is less invasive than veneers or crowns as there’s no drills involved!

Yes, we’re at 102-104 Queen’s Road, Buckhurst Hill, Essex IG9 5BS. FIRST Ortho is a seven-minute walk from Buckhurst Hill Underground Station.
We’re also on local bus routes and we have on-road parking outside the practice.
Do you offer weekend appointments for school children?
We’re open from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday so an afternoon appointment needn’t disrupt your child’s education.
If we’ve fitted your child with braces, their adjustment appointments are usually scheduled for every few weeks and don’t take long, leaving lots of time for learning!
Do you treat nervous dental patients?
FIRST Ortho welcomes nervous patients and we can honestly say that you’ll feel more like you’re at a spa than an orthodontist. Our relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff will keep you coming back for more.
Do you treat NHS patients?
Most children under the age of 18 qualify for free treatment under the National Health Service and we can also treat some adults under the NHS.
Can I have a virtual consultation with FIRST Ortho?
Yes, we offer virtual consultations. We’ll need photos of your teeth which clearly show gaps or misalignments so we can make an initial assessment before you come to see us in person.
