Correcting Protrusion, Deep Bite, Crowding and Dark Triangles with Braces and Composite Bonding | FIRST Ortho
Treatment Time: 24 Months
Brace: Steel
Amanda came to FIRST Ortho on recommendation from her daughter who also had treatment here. Amanda has a protrusion of her upper teeth, overcrowding and dark triangles. Her goal was to straighten the misalignment and preserve any teeth that were prone to gum recession.
Gum recession of often the cause of the dark triangles which appear as we get older.
Amanda meeting lots of people in her teaching classes. Her confidence was not an issue but as her teeth were getting worse over some time, she wanted to straighten them and improve her smile.
After speaking to her and learning about her objectives, Dr Patel carried out a detail treatment plan. This involved the loss of teeth. She had beautiful facial proportions which we wanted to preserve. Amanda initially thought this gap would never close! See the video below to see what she thought.
Amada did not mind fixed steel braces. The initial alignment was rapid as was the space closure. However the deep bite, the detailing of the teeth shape and composite bonding took time.
Despite the relatively long time, partly affected by the Covid outbreak, it was all worth it for a beautiful and functional result.
Most memorable moment: How surprised she was on how we managed to close the dark triangles. I never knew she doubted we could not close the lower gap!
